Limburg hotel chain successfully implements AI in guest communication

With its headquarters located in Gulpen, this young boutique hotel chain is holding its ground. Rising to the challenge against the big players and full of ambition, we are making our mark.

Where innovation is at the forefront, even in the hotel industry, you must always look at the applicability, as we believe at Saillant Collection.

We are constantly seeking innovation to enhance guest experience and/or operational efficiency. Of course, we are aware of and experience the consequences of the past few years on the industry daily. Much knowledge has been shared within our industry, and unfortunately, there are also people who do not wish to return to the industry.

These jobs are not easily replaced because Hospitality and Gastronomy remain human-driven!

Fortunately, technological advancements like WhatsApp and ChatGPT sometimes offer solutions. Like at our reception, where many of the same questions are asked.

During the peak season, we set up a pilot to see if we could handle certain questions more efficiently, quickly, and better.

For guests, all information about beautiful South Limburg is new, but for the employee, it takes time to answer all these basic questions. The WhatsApp AI from Runnr provides a solution. We have already conducted over 3000 conversations with guests, and our Bot has been able to successfully conclude 95% of these conversations. He speaks every language fluently and can also empathize with the environment. So he can handle bike rental or a restaurant reservation on his own.

Robert Willms (Operational Director) states, "A successful experiment!" This gives our staff the opportunity to focus 100% on guest experience in our hotels. On-site, our people can and should make a difference. If they are not distracted by other matters, this only becomes easier. "We anticipate that we will only further implement this automation."

Jacqueline Verhagen (Backoffice & Revenue) emphasizes this once again. "Our guests are extremely enthusiastic and eagerly type away on WhatsApp; they know it's a virtual assistant and are happy with the information they receive." We still have a few milestones we want to achieve with this integration, such as implementing the bot in our business meeting segment.
